Intro

According to the 2000 US Census, Williamson County is the seventh most populated county in the state, and from 2000-2004 has experienced a 16% increase in its population. Forty-four percent of its 25 and over population have earned a bachelor's degree or higher. In addition, the county possesses the highest median housing value and income in the state.
This increase in population is due in part to the county's strong commitment to education. Its schools are considered some of the best in the state, scoring straight A's for its K-8 three year average CRT scores. And, in 2004 they scored at least 5% higher than their neighboring counties in reading and math proficiency - See comparison. According to Great Schools, Williamson County has no schools in need of improvement in 2005.
